The primary objective of Housekeeping Supervisors/Zone Leaders is to ensure the quality of housekeeping. The goal is to ensure the cleaners have the tools, guidance and support necessary to perform top quality work in the minimum amount of time necessary by facilitating communication, motivating team members, planning and seeking solutions. This person will be the primary point of contact for the cleaners and will perform quality assurance inspections of the cleaners' work, and corrections as necessary. Availability every Friday, 8 AM - about 5:30 PM is a MUST. Clean driving record and reliable transportation a MUST. An incumbent in this position is responsible for performing professional nursing duties in the care and treatment of inmates and staff of the correctional facility operated by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. An incumbent in this position coordinates individual patient care and performs nursing services requiring substantial specialized judgment and skills in a secure correctional facility setting. Work is performed under the clinical direction of the Jail Physician and the administrative supervision of the Corrections Lieutenant with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. Supervision over the work of others is not normally a requirement of an employee in this class. Does related work as required. Minimum qualifications: Licensure and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. These positions have a 2024 starting pay rate of $33.51 per hour for FT and $31.51 per hour for PT. Position status: Non-Competitive.
